We have over 7,000 nerve endings on the soles of our feet. This makes them quite sensate and responsive to the sensory input of Reflexology.
Your nervous system mobilizes around new sensory input. For instance, when you bang your elbow, your whole body responds. You jump, your heart races, you may yelp in pain. This principle also works for positive input. That is when your Reflexologist slowly and intentionally works your feet, your whole body relaxes, allowing tension and pain to subside.
Your body is reflected in your feet. Years of experience by Reflexologists and recipients alike suggest that when pressure is applied to the feet, predictable positive changes occur in specific areas elsewhere in the body.
Reflexology has been shown to improve circulation. Circulation carries oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and carries wastes away . Improved circulation can result in decreased muscle tension and soreness, reduced swelling from injuries or illness. Immune function, skin tone and the ability to concentrate also improves when circulation is increased.
The feet are accessible and easy to work. Just remove your shoes and socks and your Reflexologist can address the needs of your entire body. If your feet cannot be worked on for any reason, you can receive the same benefits from stimulating the Reflexology points in your hands and ears.
Reflexology approaches the body as a whole with interrelated systems. This means that, for example, working the sinus points alone does not necessarily relieve a sinus headache. Your Reflexologist stimulates all the reflex points, supporting overall well being and enabling your body to concentrate healing energies where they are needed.
Reflexology is used as complimentary care for people with a variety of conditions. For example, Reflexology can help alleviate headaches, reduce arthritic and back pain, give support for addiction withdrawal, ease premenstral discomforts, and reduce symptoms of Diabetis.
In Switzerland, nurses working with terminally ill cancer patients routinely use Reflexology to decrease pain and make patients more comfortable. In Great Britain, Reflexology is part of the National Health Service. A number of employee health programs in Japan and Denmark now include Reflexology.
As you step into Peace of Mind in Studio City, an Organic Holistic establishment that focuses on your healing, you feel calmness and a sense of peace. You are escorted to your special space for healing, relaxation and rejuvenation. My special talents are Reflexology (a modality that works on hands, ears and feet to balance all bodies), Transmutive Therapy (an Acquarian recalibration of Reiki-hands on healing), Channeling, and Readings. I am called the Human Whisperer. I also use Doterra Oils for the different challenges that the client is experiencing. (I have already done prayers, blessed the room, session, and client.) Once the client is settled on the massage table, I question if they have received Reflexology before. If not, I give a brief explanation and answer any of their questions. I also ask what are their challenges. Next, I apply Purify oil to their feet (which kills germs, purifies system & feeds their cells within 3 seconds). Then I apply On Guard oil (protective shield that kills viruses & germs) at their thymus point (connects to the immune system) and Balance oil on their crown. At this point, I add oils for their challenges to their feet, hands and ears before I do Reflexology.
After applying Coconut Fractionated oil to the client’s feet and legs and any oils for their challenges, I proceed to do the Reflexology session. Applying Reflexology one foot at a time through relaxation techniques (I am praying all during the session and running Energy), and also keeping conscious of the “hot” spots in the foot, my fingers reflex all of the foot. Once the foot is free of pain/challenges, the calf is relaxed through relaxing techniques. The second foot is relaxed through relaxation techniques and Reflexology is applied, finishing up by relaxing the calf through relaxation techniques. The pressure is firm throughout the session. A hard pressure is not required because one is working on the Zone mapping of the body and since a person has 70,000 nerves in their feet, any place a Reflexologist touches will balance that area at the cellular level. The feet are connected energy wise to the earth.
Then I move to do Reflexology on the hands. After applying the oils to the hand and forearm, I do Reflexology on the hand and fingers, from front to back, finishing up with relaxation techniques on the forearm and hand. The hands connect to the middle earth. After finishing with Reflexology on the hands, I move to the ears.
Reflexology is applied to the ears by holding different points and doing smoothing out (called unraveling the ear) on parts of the ear, finishing up with points around the ear being reflexed. The ears connect to the Divine.
A quick shoulder, head and neck rub finishes this area.
Then a clearing is done at the end to connect the client to reality. The session runs 1 hr to 1 hr 15 min., depending on challenges with client.
The client needs to take 3 deep breaths before driving and also needs to drink 3 glasses of water to flush out toxins.
The client might feel rejuvenated, ready to take on the world after the session. Or, she/he might have a deep relaxation and want to take a nap. Or, she/he might have had a blissful, spiritual experience and just float out of the office. Very seldom, there are detoxing effects. So, if The client comes with a positive, uplifting attitude, expecting the best experience for the highest good and win-win situation, she/he will experience the best treatment.
Please do not eat anything 1/2 hour prior to the session.
